Melissa Weidner is a professional musician based in Tustin, California, specializing in keyboard instrument performance.  She is currently active throughout Orange County as a piano tuner and technician, church musician, and carillon recitalist.
 
Weidner holds a Bachelor of Music in Music Theory degree from the University of Oregon, and a Master of Music in Sacred Music degree (organ performance specialization) from The Catholic University of America.  She studied organ with Barbara Baird at the University of Oregon, where additional private instruction included piano, saxophone, and voice.  Awarded a full academic scholarship, Weidner began her carillon study at The Catholic University of America with Robert Grogan, who was also her organ instructor.  She later continued her carillon studies with Todd Fair and Carol Jickling Lens at the University of Denver.
 
In 2009, Weidner passed the carillonneur advancement examination at the annual Congress of the Guild of Carillonneurs in North America (GCNA), held at Longwood Gardens in Pennsylvania.  Since that time, she has given carillon recitals nationwide, including performances at Yale University and Princeton University.
 
Weidner has served as music director, organist, and choral director in various locations nationwide. She is currently the organist and principal musician at Faith Lutheran Church in Capistrano Beach.
